A super simple method to give your photos and portraits a muted color effect.




Note: This method was taken from this page. Thanks jeffegg2!

  1. Open your image.
  2. Duplicate the background layer. Desaturate it (use Luminosity method if you have GIMP 2.4+) and set it to Multiply mode.
  3. Duplicate that layer. Invert the color and set it to Saturation mode (~50% opacity).

Done!
